Apple Oatmeal Cakes (Jablkové Lievance )


Goodness.....look at the date....it's been a while since I posted any recipes on here.

Not that I haven't been cooking and baking, but there was so many changes and more changes in my life last few months that my blogging had to take a back seat for a bit.

Everything settled down in last few days and I am ready to share more recipes with you all....hope you are hungry.


Today, I am sharing a great Apple Oatmeal Cakes recipes that my children love to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert.

This dish is so versatile that you can eat it and serve it pretty much any time of the time with different variations.



Ingredients:
  • 1,5 cup Milk
  • 1,5 cup Quick Oats
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 Egg Yolks
  • 1/4 cup Fine Breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 4 cup Apples (shredded)
STEP 1:  Peel and shred apples. Make sure you have 4 packed cups of shredded apples.



STEP 2: In a microwavable bowl warm the milk for 1 minute until hot, but not boiling. Take the bowl out of the microwave and mix oats into the milk. Let it stand for 10 minutes or until oats are nice and soft (not oatmeal mushy).



STEP 3: Add flour, sugar, cinnamon and breadcrumbs into the oatmeal mixture. Mix well.



STEP 4: Mix in lightly beaten egg yolks.

STEP 5: Gently fold in shredded apples.



STEP 6: In a frying pan heat up oil on medium high. Place spoonfuls of apple oatmeal cakes mixture. Spread it around little bit making nice round circle.



STEP 7: Fry on both sides until golden brown.



STEP 8: Serve warm sprinkled with powdered or vanilla sugar and whipped cream (optional)
