Double Chocolate Double Nut Cookies

Double Chocolate Double Nut Cookies

Last night my kids were moping around the house and complaining that we don't have anything yummy to eat cause mom was bored and raided the pantry while they were at school .

Tired of the dirty looks I have a feeling they knew who ate all the snacks they were throwing my way I decided to make a batch of their favorite cookies without fessing up about the lack of treats in the pantry  we call Double Double (two kinds of chocolate chips and two kinds of nuts.

PRINTABLE RECIPE

This recipe makes about 6 dozen cookies.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Butter (unsalted, room temperature)
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1,5 cup Sugar
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 Eggs (beaten)
  • 2,5 cups Flour
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup White Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups Pecans (chopped)
  • 2 cups Walnuts (chopped)
STEP 1: Preheat oven to 350F. Grease cookie sheet.

STEP 2: In a large bowl cream together butter, sugar, brown sugar. Add vanilla extract, baking soda and salt. Mix thoroughly.

STEP 3: While mixing gradually add the beaten eggs and the flour. Incorporate it all together.

STEP 4: Finally gently fold in the chocolate chips and nuts.

STEP 5: Drop by teaspoons onto the cookie sheet. Bake about 12 minutes or until nice and brown.

Sometimes I make only 4 dozen regular cookies and 4 giant cookies as a special treat. Kids love the giant cookies....why wouldn't they? More sugar......

Double Chocolate Double Nut Cookies

What cookie is your favorite? Do you like good old traditional cookies like Chocolate Chips or Oatmeal Raisin or more hip and happening cookies like Chocolate Ginger Hazelnut cookies?

I'm not really one who likes nuts and my hubby can't have any, but I adore white chocolate and any other chocolate so the double chocolate sounds fabulous!
Thanks for linking up with us, I can't wait to see what you share for next Thursday.
